Hurriyat threatens to pull out of talks
Srinagar, February 25
  Abbas Ansari  In a significant development, the Abbas-led Hurriyat Conference today threatened to pull out of the talks with the Centre in case the “ongoing human rights violations” in Kashmir were not stopped within a month. Addressing mediapersons here, the APHC chairman, Moulvi Abbas Ansari, alleged that there was no improvement on the human rights front despite assurances from the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr L.K. Advani.

PTU Vice-Chancellor submits resignation?
Chandigarh, February 25
 Prof Y.S. Rajan The Punjab Technical University Vice-Chancellor, Prof Y.S. Rajan, is believed to have submitted his resignation and requested to be relieved by February 27. The government is likely to forward the VC’s request to the Governor, Justice O P Verma, who is also the PTU Chancellor.

C. VenkatramanaC. Venkatramana, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Nalco, today surrendered before the Mumbai police in a case in which he was accused of sexually harassing a subordinate, the police said.

Indian, US pilots share experiences
Gwalior, February 25
The United States could share its experience in high altitude precision bombing with India, a senior US Air Force officer indicated here today. “The two countries are likely to project the subject of sharing experiences in the high altitude precision bombing to be included in the next series of combat exercise,” Col J.A. Hill, Air Attache, US Embassy in India, told a group of visiting newspersons here.
