Cabinet clears DA merger
New Delhi, February 20
The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal to merge 50 per cent of dearness allowance (DA) with the basic pay of the Central Government employees. The Cabinet also announced a subsidised insurance scheme for 12.18 lakh Anganwadi workers.

A MiG-21 fighter jet crashed in a residential area killing four persons, including two children, and injuring 14 in Lakhabaval village of Gujarat, about 20 km from here, today.

Principal shoots boy in school

An 18-year-old Dalit boy, Sandeep Singh, alias Sonu, was today allegedly shot on the premises of Government Senior Secondary School, Chhajjalwadi, by the Principal at about 10 am today. The Principal, Harnek Singh, fled the scene after committing the crime.
