Three Indians among the dead

Dubai, February 1
In one of the deadliest tragedies in recent times during Haj, three Indians were among 244 pilgrims trampled to death today in a stampede that occurred when an estimated two million devotees flocked to Mena, near Mecca, in Saudi Arabia.

Twin blasts leave 56 dead in Iraq
Arbil, February 1
At least 56 persons were killed today in twin suicide attacks on offices of two Kurdish political parties in the northern Iraqi city of Arbil, medical sources said. Officials at one of the hospitals that received victims of the blast said they had the corpses of at least 56 persons killed in the bombings.
