Chandigarh, January 23
While Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has dropped the idea to visit Pakistan, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has allowed his visit.

The Chief Minister was to visit Lahore from January 29 to 31 in connection with a Punjabi conference there. Punjabi writers, who are going to participate in the conference from India, say that in view of the changed circumstances they would request the Chief Minister to review his decision.

Sources said today the Punjab Government had got intimation to this effect from Delhi. The Chief Minister had recently reacted strongly against the delay in clearing his foreign visit. He had also taken up this issue with the Prime Minister on January 21.
