India to fly relief for Iran from today

New Delhi, December 29
India will rush three planeloads of relief material for the quake-hit Iranians and the first relief plane will fly tomorrow, foreign office spokesman Navtej Sarna announced today.

The relief assistance to be sent from tomorrow will include 10,000 blankets, 1,000 tents, a full complement of doctors to set up a 75-bedded mobile hospital along with an operating theatre and medical supplies for four weeks. More than 25,000 persons have been killed in a powerful earthquake in and around the Iranian town of Bam.
