Tribune News Service

Patiala, November 10
The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has decided to reconduct the interview process of all college lecturers to whom call letters had been sent during the tenure of its former Chairman Ravinderpal Singh Sidhu.

Sources disclosed that the PPSC had recommended the appointment of as many as 400 candidates as lecturers during the tenure of Sidhu. They said these candidates had been recommended for appointment after interviews for the posts were held from 1999 to 2001. They said a total of 540 lecturers were to be selected for the posts.

Now the commission has decided to reconduct the entire interview procedure. Call letters for participating in the interview could be sent to 2,500 candidates who had applied for the posts earlier.
