The Supreme Court today stayed the arrest of ‘The Hindu’ Editor N Ravi, its publisher and four other journalists, sentenced to 15 days imprisonment by the Tamil Nadu Assembly for the breach of the privilege of the House and issued notices to the Speaker, the state government and seven other respondents on their writ petitions.

Centre to seek report from TN Governor

The Prime Minister, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, today said the Centre would seek a report from the Tamil Nadu Governor on the issue of arrest warrants issued by the state Assembly for breach of privileges against six journalists.

Cong leaders get more time in ’84 riots case
New Delhi, November 10
Congress leaders Vasant Sathe, Kamal Nath and Dharam Dass Shastri were today allowed further time to submit their replies by the Justice Nanavati Commission, which is probing the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
