19 hacked, burnt in tea garden clash
Siliguri/Kolkata, November 6
Enraged tea garden workers today hacked to death 19 persons, including two women, and later burnt them at the house of a former CITU leader, following a dispute over recruitment of three outsiders at a tea estate in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district.

Seven of family  burnt alive
Lucknow, November 6
Seven members of a family in Dostpur Shivli village of Unnao district were burnt alive in their house last midnight.

In a major success in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, the CBI today arrested her suspected killers from a house in Lucknow.

One quintal seed fish die in Sutlej
Nangal (Ropar), November 6
While the impact of the breach in the dyke of the Ropar thermal plant on the ecology is still being studied by experts, in another incident, which is an indicator of pollution in the Sutlej, seed fish perished near Bela Dhiani village, about 3 km from Nangal. Fishermen have reported the death of seed fish in about 2 km stretch of the river near their village.
