Aligarh, November 1
One person was shot dead by unidentified persons on the outskirts of the city, near Charra Adda, this evening when he was on his way home to break his Ramzan fast, District Magistrate S.M. Bobde said.

Meanwhile, the curfew imposed on three police station areas of Kotwali, Sasni Gate and Delhi Gate following clashes between two communities earlier in the day has been extended to two more police outposts areas of Rasalganj and Gandhipark, Mr Bobde said tonight.

One person who was injured in the exchange of fire earlier in the day during the clashes was out of danger and recuperating in AMU Medical College Hospital, he said.

So far 20 persons have been arrested in connection with the clashes.

The police, the PAC and the Rapid Action Force were patrolling the curfew-bound areas of the city, he added. — PTI
