After being admonished by the Supreme Court for failing to secure justice for
the riot victims, the Narendra Modi government today informed the apex court
that it had pleaded with the Gujarat High Court for a fresh probe.
Ms Zakia Zafri, wife of Congress MP Ahsaan Zafri who was killed in Ahmedabad during the riots last year, talks to mediapersons at the Supreme Court in New Delhi. Her petition in the apex court came up for hearing on Thursday. —

allegedly belonging to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati and
