Vigilance team quizzes Badal

Seemingly upbeat after being questioned by the Vigilance Bureau at his official residence here for about four hours, former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said today that the bureau team did not ask anything substantial, except a few questions here and there, about the allegations levelled against him by Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh, about the amassing of huge wealth and properties.

India opens skies to ASEAN flights; security pact signed

In a major development in the process of normalisation of Sino-Indian ties, China today announced that it had removed Sikkim from the list of regional countries on its official website, clearing the decks for Beijing’s formal recognition of the state as a part of India in the near future. China also expressed confidence that the boundary dispute between the two countries would be resolved amicably.

Pak test-fires Hatf-IV missile

Pakistan today conducted its second missile test in less than a week by “successfully” test-firing the Hatf-IV medium-range nuclear-capable missile, which has a range of 700 km and could hit targets in India.
