8 ultras killed, Cong man’s house attacked Srinagar, October 6 An official spokesman said, the security forces killed four militants in an encounter at Nowshera Nar-Gurez in north Kashmir district of Baramula last evening. One AK rifle, two UBGL, 10 UBGL grenades, four anti-tank rifle grenades, 7 kg of explosive, two magazines and about 800 rounds of ammunition were seized from the slain militants. The spokesman said a Hizbul Mujahideen militant Mohammad Jalam-ud-din Qari Rizwan, a resident of Muzaffarbad, Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, was killed in an encounter with the security forces at Sonapindi-Kalaroos in frontier district of Kupwara last evening. One assault rifle, three magazines and 40 rounds were also seized from the slain militant. An encounter took place between militants and the security forces at Ariguttan-Kulgam village in south Kashmir district of Anantnag last evening during which Jaish-e-Mohammad militant Ghulam Mohiuddin Sheikh was killed, the spokesman said. He said two brothers Salam Sheikh and Ghulam Nabi Sheikh were also injured during the encounter. JAMMU: Militants attacked the house of former Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief and MLC, Choudhary Mohammad Aslam, in Poonch district while a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and a top Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) area commander were killed in a fierce gunbattle in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir today, official sources said. Militants threw a grenade and fired indiscriminately on Aslam’s house in the Lasana area of Poonch district last night, sources said. However, guards posted there retaliated and after the exchange of fire for an hour militants fled from the spot, they said, adding there was no
