Amarmani to undergo lie-detector test
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, September 26
Former Uttar Pradesh minister Amarmani Tripathi, arrested in connection with the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, will undergo a lie-detector test, most likely on Monday.

“We have informed the lawyers of Mr Tripathi that if he refuses to undergo a polygraph test, it will go against him,” a CBI official told The Tribune here today.

A group of doctors have declared Mr Tripathi “ fit ” to undergo the polygraphy test.

CBI sources said he was taken to Safdarjung Hospital this evening and shown to a group of doctors, including a cardiologist.

Meanwhile, in a related development, the CBI brought Desraj, key witness and servant of the slain poetess, to the Capital to corroborate the statements made by Tripathi.

Tripathi’s interrogation continued for the third day today after he was brought to the Capital on Wednesday after being remanded in CBI custody for seven days by a Lucknow court on Tuesday.
