Bin Laden alive, says Musharraf

Washington, September 23
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is alive and may be hiding in his country, even as he vowed not to allow a resurgence of the outfit.

“Yes,” he said in an interview with ABC News yesterday when asked whether Bin Laden was alive, adding: “I think he’s on the run. Al-Qaida is on the run. Taliban supporters are on the run.”

He said the terrorist mastermind could be in Pakistan or even hiding in Afghanistan and could be shifting places. — PTI
