Huge cache of arms seized; 2 securitymen killed
Srinagar, September 20
In another major success, the security forces killed six militants and busted a Jaish-e-Mohammad hideout in Kashmir today. On specific information, troops conducted search operations in the Wahbugh forest area in Pulwama district early today but came under heavy fire from militants.

Joshi adamant; wait till I return, says Vajpayee

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Friday delayed his departure for New York by one and a half hours as word of the judgment on the framing of charges in the Babri demolition case was received.

The National Commission for Women today observed that Shanti Mukund and Guru Teg Bahadur hospitals had been negligent in providing proper and timely medical care to a 19-year-old nurse after she was allegedly wronged by a sweeper. The accused, identified as Bhure, works in Shanti Mukund Hospital.

First fireproof coach set to roll

Keeping in view the increase in incidents of train fire, the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, has come out with India’s first fireproof coach. It will be flagged off by the Railway Minister Nitish Kumar tomorrow. The coach is fireproof and has a smoke sensor that would alert passengers with a powerful alarm in case of a fire.
