4 Hemkunt pilgrims die in mishap

Yamunanagar, August 20
Four persons died and seven were seriously injured in a collision between a truck and a car near Thana Chhappar last night.

All these persons were of Patiala. They were heading back after visiting Hemkunt Sahib in their Qualis vehicle (PB-10-AJ-1689) when the vehicle collided head-on with a truck at the Yamunanagar border. Kuljeet Singh, Gurmail Singh of Mathura Colony, Patiala, Karnail Singh of Bahadurgarh (Patiala) and Gurmukh Singh of Fatehgarh Sahib died on the spot.

Seven of the eleven persons in the Qualis were working in Escorts. This includes three persons who perished in the mishap.

The injured include Joginder Singh of Raipur (Patiala), Balwant Singh, Taranjeet Singh, Prem Singh, Darshan Singh and Guru Dev Singh of Fatehgarh Sahib. They have been admitted to Primary Health Centre, Mustafabad, Yamunanagar district. The Thana Chhappar police has registered a case against the driver of the truck, who is at large.
