Cabinet okays Bill on cow slaughter ban New Delhi, August 11 The proposal to introduce the Bill for the banning of cow slaughter was cleared by the Union Cabinet at its meeting here. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told reporters after the meeting that once the bill is passed by Parliament, the decision to ban cow slaughter would be “binding” on all states under the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution. |
