Collective bargaining right of employees, says Sorabjee
New Delhi, August 10
Attorney General Soli J. Sorabjee today came out strongly against the Supreme Court ruling on the right to strike, saying its observations that government employees had "no moral or equitable right to go on strike" were "uncalled for" and "beyond comprehension".

Rohtang tunnel to affect area ecology, warn experts

The construction of the Rs 1,000-crore Rohtang tunnel will no doubt shorten the travelling distance to Lahaul by 46 km, making it an all-weather road for defence supplies to the strategic border areas, but it is the fragile ecology of the area which is paying a heavy price.

Manali-Rohtang road closed after boulder threat

The district administration today said vehicular traffic on the Manali-Rohtang national highway, would remain suspended on August 11 and 12, as a 35-metre boulder was hanging precariously at Rahla fall, about 29 km from here.

Eight injured in Doda bus blast

Eight persons were injured, one of them seriously, when an IED exploded in a private bus in the main bazar of Bhaderwah town in Doda district today.
