Fulfil promise on temple, Nyas chief asks PM

Ayodhya, August 4
Sri Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas newly-appointed chairman Nritya Gopal Das has appealed to the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr L.K. Advani, to fulfil their promise of temple construction made at the funeral of former Nyas chairman Paramhans Ramchandra Das here.

Mr Das told UNI here last night that Mr Vajpayee and Mr Advani, while paying tributes to Paramhans on August 1, had promised a Ram temple at Ayodhya and had also hoped that all obstacles in the path of the temple construction would be removed. Mr Das said he wanted a Bill in the Parliament on this. “If this paves way for temple construction it would be good, otherwise the present government should step down gladly,” he added.

The mahant of the Maniram Das Chhavni, Mr Das said talks with Muslims should also be held on sensitive issues like Ayodhya. — UNI
