3 Lashkar men killed in encounter

Srinagar, July 5
At least five persons, including three militants of the Lashkar-e-Toiba, were killed in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since yesterday. The security forces also recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition, including 20 kg of explosives, during search operations.

A police spokesman said here that three militants of the Lashkar-e-Toiba were killed in an encounter with the security forces at Urposh, near Ganderbal in Srinagar district yesterday. One of them was identified as Abu Javed, alias Alfa-4, from Pakistan. Two AK rifles, six magazines, 130 rounds, one pistol and six hand grenades were recovered.
