New Delhi, June 30
The Delhi High Court today issued notices to Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, the state Home Secretary and five vigilance officials on a petition by Wimpy International.

Four persons, two each of the Congress and the SAD, were killed in poll-related violence in Punjab where panchayat elections were held yesterday, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said today.

Two die in poll violence
Many injured in clashes, lathi-charges; 80 pc turnout

Patti (Amritsar), June 29
Widespread violence marred the panchayat elections in border districts of Amritsar and Gurdaspur even as two persons died (one each in Batala and Tarn Taran police districts). A DSP, a Sub-Inspector and an ASI sustained minor injuries at the time of polling in Amritsar district.

Mystery surrounding the disappearance of a weapon handed over by Pakistani Lieut Gen A.K.A. Niazi when his troops surrendered before the Indian Army in the 1971 Bangladesh war was cleared today with the Indian Military Academy (IMA) saying that the revolver was safe in its museum here. After conducting a comprehensive inspection of the disputed site here, the Liberhan Commission today left for New Delhi. The commission, probing the demolition of the disputed structure here, has for the first time conducted a two-day inspection of the site.
