Ultras kill two by injecting poison
Tribune News Service and PTI

Jammu, June 22
Adopting a new tactic to create terror in the border areas, Pakistani terrorists killed a woman, Rani Begum, and a young man, Feroze Din, by injecting some poisonous substance into them at Haari village in the Surankot area of Poonch district last night. This is the first time that the terrorists have used such a method.

Reports said the terrorists first kidnapped Rani Begum and later killed her in the nearby fields by injecting poison into her. Her husband, Abdul Gani, who was a Congress leader, was killed by terrorists in 1999.

Another person, Feroze Din (45), was kidnapped from his house in the same village by ultras, who later killed him by injecting poison into him. The police said two terrorists forcibly entered his house and dragged him to fields, where he was injected with poison.

The Surankot area has become a fortress of terrorists, which the security forces have so far failed to break. It is being said that the terrorists have adopted this new terror method as they are afraid of carrying guns in view of heavy deployment of the Army because of operation “sarapvinash”. It is also suspected to be retaliation to the operation “sarapvinash”, which meant destruction of “snakes”.

Rani Begum was closely related to Choudhary Aslam, a former president of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC). She had migrated to Surankot after the assassination of her husband and had returned to her native village recently.

Another woman Fatima Begum was shot dead and her minor daughter wounded by terrorists, who forcibly entered her house at Targain village in the Budhal area of Rajouri district.
