The US President, Mr George W. Bush, categorically told the Indian Prime Minister, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, that he would talk to Gen Pervez Musharraf to stop cross-border terrorism when the Pakistan President pays an official visit to Camp David.

Tens of thousands of anti-globalisation protesters set off on marches today, as the French police fired tear gas to stop demonstrators blocking a road to a resort hosting a summit of world leaders.

Train derails in Bihar, 1 dead
New Delhi, June 1
A 45-year-old man was killed and 19 were injured as the New Delhi-bound Magadh Express derailed between Baruna and Buxar railway stations under the Danapur rail division in Bihar early this morning.

Dhiren, alias Dhiru, accused of murdering Padmesh, a cousin of Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, had reportedly decided to get married which allegedly became a cause of conflict between Padmesh and him as the former felt insecure and lonely.


Rail coach catches fire
Northern Railway sounds alert
Amritsar, June 1
A stationary new rail coach that had arrived from the Kapurthala rail coach factory a few days ago, caught fire at around 10.30 am here today. It took nearly half an hour to douse the fire.
