Blackwill's assurance

Mumbai, May 28
The USA will not mediate between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue, outgoing US Ambassador to India Robert Blackwill today asserted. In his brief interaction with the media during a farewell visit to the metropolis, Mr Blackwill said the Bush administration, despite constant speculations to the contrary, would not mediate on the Kashmir issue. Pervez visit

Berlin, May 28
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf plans to visit China next month close on the heels of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ongoing four-day tour of this European nation. Pakistan diplomats said here today that General Musharraf might visit Germany on his way back home from the USA after meeting President Bush. He is likely to meet German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and President Johanned Rau during the visit. UNI
