One dead, 35 hurt in Doda blast Jammu, May 5 Five of the critically injured persons, including a woman, have been flown here from Doda for treatment in the medical college. Some people were thrown away due to the explosion which rocked the bus stand area. Two injured, Irshad Ahmed and Jamila Bano, were in a state of shock in the hospital. Army personnel camping near the bus stand helped rescue the injured. They were given treatment in the district hospital and later the seriously injured were flown here in a helicopter. The seriously injured persons have been identified as Jagdip Kumar, Janak Singh, Irshad Ahmed, Jamila Bano and Vipin. It is learnt that the explosive device was planted in the crowded area by a terrorist outfit. Army personnel had recently killed 13 terrorists near Doda town. SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) leader Sheikh Ghulam Ahmad Saloora was today injured in a blast at Ganderbal while two militants were killed by security forces in south Kashmir. Security forces also arrested a militant belonging to the Pakistan-based outfit Al-Badr and seized a large cache of arms and ammunition at Soura. Ajaz Ahmad Taploo, alias Nasta, alias Tariq, was arrested along with one AK rifle, three magazines, 161 rounds, three grenades, one UBGL with four rounds, two detonators and three remote control devices at Soura last night. |
