Haryana cops arrests
INTUC chief Shimla/Panchkula, May 4 The local police was informed by the local Intuc leaders only at 9.45 a.m., almost after 90 minutes after he was taken away. An alert was sounded immediately and all possible exit points were sealed but to no avail. The police party from the neighbouring state had managed to get out of Himachal with the prized catch. This was the second time that the Haryana police has made such an attempt. A similar attempt on April 4 was foiled by the local police, which intercepted the vehicle in which Mr Bawa was being taken at Dharampur and got him released. Subsequently, Mr Bawa had filed an FIR with the Shimla police alleging that he was illegally taken away by the officials of the Haryana police. The incident led to confrontation between the police of two states following which the Haryana police also registered a case against the policemen of Dharampur thana for forcibly getting Mr Bawa released from its custody. Mr Yog Raj Thakur, Superintendent of Police, said the state police would take up the matter with the Haryana police. He said it was normal practice for the police parties from other states to inform the local police in such matters. Mr Bawa has been booked under Sections 341, 323, 506 and 120-B of the IPC on a complaint of Mr M.K. Shishodiya, a resident of Pinjore. The complainant had accused Mr Bawa, his son, his nephew and five others of attacking him near Pinjore on April 27. The accused followed him in a car, attacked him and threatened to kill him. Mr Shishodiya had earlier filed an assault case against Bawa’s men, said the DSP, Kalka, Mr Rajesh Duggal. The police said Mr Bawa had tried to get bail in the fresh case, which was denied. Earlier, the police arrested Ramandeep and five others when they allegedly attempted to attack a man near the district courts in Panchkula on March 3. Following this, the police had set up a special investigating team to unearth cases against them. |
