J&K minister’s house attacked Srinagar, April 30 Partial damage was caused to the house where the minister’s parents and other family members were present. No one was injured in the incident, which occurred at 11.30 pm. The militants first hurled grenades at the house and then fired from automatic weapons. Police personnel guarding the house of the minister exchanged fire with the militants for about one hour, but the latter managed to escape under cover of darkness. Additional police personnel were rushed to the scene of the attack soon after the incident. Meanwhile, three militants were among five persons killed in separate militancy-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since last night, a police spokesman said today. Two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants, Abu Talha and Mohammad Younis, were killed in an encounter with security personnel in the Sukh Sarai forest of Shopian in Pulwama district. The spokesman said both militants were Pakistani nationals. In another gunbattle, a militant was killed by security forces in the Rajwar forest of Kupwara district. Militants shot dead a youth, Rayees Ahmad Shah, suspecting him to be an informer for the security forces, at Batpora village in Pulwama district. JAMMU: A telephone exchange at Drahal town in Rajouri district was fully damaged in a powerful IED blast late on Tuesday night, the police said on Wednesday. The police said ultras triggered an IED blast around 9 pm, damaging its complex and exchange equipment.
