Blast kills six in Pulwama Srinagar, April 22 The IED, planted under a stone wall along the road to target BSF personnel who patrolled the area, went off at Gulshanpora in Tral area of the district around 8 am, they said. Bashir Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Shaban, Mohammad Gujjar and Mohammad Ashraf died on the spot in the explosion while Aftab Ahmad and 12-year-old Idris Ahmad Sheikh died in hospital, adding the condition of three other injured was stated to be serious. The troops of 138 Bn BSF posted in the area rushed to the spot immediately and evacuated those injured to the subdivision hospital, at Tral. Nine security forces personnel were injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling was
hit by a landmine explosion near Zig, Qazigund, about 100 km from here on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, today. The vehicle, carrying security personnel on its way to Jammu was partially damaged in the explosion that took place at 10-15 a.m. One militant of the Lashkar-e-Toiba, Javed Ahmad Wani, alias Mudassir, was killed in an encounter with the security forces in a forest area near Brari Angan in Anantnag district today. One pistol with magazine, three rounds and three hand grenades were recovered from the site of encounter. Unidentified militants kidnapped and shot dead Mohammad Maqbool Qureshi in the Handwara area of Kupwra district last night. |
