Crucial Samata meeting to oust George men
today
Patna, April 12 The recently appointed convener of the state party, Mr Bashist Narain Singh, has called separate meetings of the state executive, the state council and the legislature party tomorrow to discuss organisational matters. But in reality, the deputy leader of the Samata Legislature party, Mr Upendra Kushwaha, said the meetings would formally seek the removal of pro-Fernandes Samata legislature party leader Umashanker Singh and party’s leader in the legislative council P.K. Sinha. The legislature party meeting had been dubbed as unauthorised by Mr Umashanker Singh, who said the state convener had exceeded his authority as the legislature party leader alone was competent to call its meeting. The state convener had exceeded his brief in calling the meeting of the legislature party....what he had done was against all established norms, he told PTI by phone from Siwan, saying he would not attend the meeting. He assailed Mr Bashist Narain Singh for convening the meeting of the state executive which Mr Nitish Kumar’s supporters claimed to have been dissolved by MPs supporting the Railway Minister earlier this year. “I don’t know if they have convened the meeting of the dissolved executive or have constituted a new one,” he said.
