DTO makes record revenue collection of Rs 2.70 cr
Sonepat, April 11
The District Transport Office has made a record revenue collection of around Rs 2.70 crore during 2002-2003, registering an increase of over Rs 55.12 lakh in comparison to revenue collections of 2001-2002. An amount of nearly Rs 66.34 lakh was collected through challans and penalties imposed on vehicle owners.

Noida Authority has decided to provide reservations to members of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in allotment of residential plots and flats.
This decision was taken in its 114th board meeting, which also approved a special housing scheme for the non-resident Indians.

The Labour Department has come up with a proposal to extend insurance cover to labourers from the unorganised sector.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, Labour, Mr K.K.Purvar, the Labour Department collected a revenue of over Rs 21.23 lakh during the last financial year.

Truck rams into rickshaw, man killed

An unidentified rickshaw-puller was killed on the spot when a truck hit his rickshaw in the thickly populated area of Gita Bhawan Chowk here late last evening.
According to a report, the truck driver tried to escape immediately after the accident but was caught by the shopkeepers.
