Suspected SARS case in Mumbai

Mumbai, April 7
The first case of suspected severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has been admitted to Kasturba Hospital in the city here.

According to hospital sources, the patient, a 30-year old American woman Rebecca Railey, was admitted with SARS-like symptoms and heavy fever.

The woman, who had travelled through China, Taiwan and Vietnam came to the city via Delhi and was diagnosed with high fever and was admitted to the hospital.

A team from the National Institute of Virology of Pune will reach the hospital to check the patient. UNI
