Bush condemns J&K massacre

Washington, March 25
Condemning as “cowardly attack” the killing of 24 Kashmiri Pandits, US President George W. Bush has expressed his resolve to work with friends and allies to fight terrorism at home and abroad.

“The President strongly condemns the cowardly attack that left 24 innocent men, women and children dead in Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir on March 23,” Bush’s Press Secretary said in a statement.

“We extend our condolences to the injured and the families of the victims,” he said. PTI

India’s rebuff to USA

New Delhi, March 25
India today strongly rebuffed the renewed call by the USA for resumption of talks with Pakistan by questioning the very basis of the military action taken by the Bush administration in Iraq and Afghanistan. An External Affairs Ministry spokesman sought to know from the USA the reason for resorting to military action against Iraq and Afghanistan instead of a dialogue to resolve the crisis.
