Recruitment record seized Hamirpur, March 9 The team collected record from the officers and officials of the board led by Mrs Rakhi Kahlon, Secretary of the board. It seized a major part of the record pertaining to recruitment and purchases by the board during the past four years. The Chairman of the board, Mr Surendra Mohan Katwal, is away to Punjab in connection with the marriage of a relative. He is expected here on Tuesday morning, according to official sources. He is on leave till Monday. Highly placed sources told The Tribune here that the Enforcement Department had decided to summon all those who had served with the board from time to time. One of them, Mr Tek Chand Thakur, now SDM, Una, met the Enforcement Department team last evening and replied to various queries. It was not known whether he gave any written statement to the team or not. There are reports that the Himachal Pradesh Government has instructed its officers to co-operate with the Enforcement Department in its search operations. The department is likely to summon all former Secretaries of the board to assist it in its operations. Meanwhile, officials of the Hamirpur police continue to guard the office and residence of the Chairman of the board. These buildings have been sealed. When contacted, Mr Jagjit Kumar Gupta, DIG, Enforcement, said the search operation were in progress. He refused to give details. He, however, said the department had made a major headway and more would be known once the Chairman of the board joined duty on Tuesday morning. |
