Four Pak Mission staffers expelled
New Delhi, January 22
Against the backdrop of Pakistan’s continuing diplomatic terrorism, India today gave a subtle message by expelling four staffers of the Pakistan High Commission here, including two diplomats, and asked Islamabad to withdraw the four persona non grata within 48 hours.

India calls for combating terror
New Delhi, January 22
India today launched a concerted campaign against international terrorism, asking parliamentarians of the world to strengthen mechanisms for eliminating the menace and address the root causes of terrorism like poverty, illiteracy and unemployment.

Delhi High Court today directed the Government and the Reserve Bank of India to ensure that no foreign exchange was released from the country as sponsorship for the cricket World Cup if the Indian team is not allowed to participate in the tournament.

Cops confess to beating kid to death, arrested
Jalandhar, January 22
The murder of Chetan, an eight-year-old migrant kid who was thrown out of a running car along with his friend Bhola by certain unidentified car-borne miscreants on the Ladowali Road here last night, took a new turn as investigations revealed that they were taken into illegal custody by the Bhargo Camp police chowki in charge and Chetan died of torture inflicted by the former and two of his subordinates, who have confessed to having committed the crime.
