Togadia attacks Sonia
Wants secularists to be boycotted

Pune, December 29
In a speech peppered with frequent attacks on Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s foreign origin, firebrand VHP leader Pravin Togadia today said: “Political Ghaznis” would like to bring her to the seat of power.

In an apparent reference to Afghan Sultan Mahmood of Ghazni’s invasion of India in the 17th century, he said: “Three types of Ghaznis have done immense damage to the country which include the jehadi Ghazni, the secularist Ghazni, which protect the jehadis, and political Ghazni, which wants to bring ‘Italy ki beti’ to the seat of power.”

“If these political Ghaznis want, they won’t think twice to bring daughter of Sindh Benazir Bhutto in India,” he told a “dharma sabha” organised by the VHP here.

Mr Togadia said when “Ram bhakts” were burnt alive in Godhra, why Ms Sonia Gandhi did not protest. “Did you bother to take a rally to catch those culprits responsible for the Godhra massacre,” he said.

Ms Sonia Gandhi was not interested in Hindus as she was more interested in the minorities, he said and added: “Why has she not visited Jammu and Kashmir where lakhs of Hindus have been massacred? Why has she not consoled the relatives of 12,000 Army personnel killed in the Valley?”

Stating that “Hindu lion” has awakened after the results of Gujarat elections, Mr Togadia said the only thing which the jehadi Ghaznis of India deserve was death by hanging.

“For the secular Ghaznis what I advocate is samuhik bahishkar (public boycott),” he added.

The VHP leader said the government did not think twice when it came to register case against Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray. “But then why not against Imam Bukhari,” he said.

According to Mr Togadia, Ms Sonia Gandhi said terrorism had no religion. “If that is so then why are the temples of India under attack,” he asked.

“Agar yeh baat hai to phir kyo mere mandir me hamla hota hai. Kyon Imam Bukhari par nahi. Kyon Sansad me hamla hota hai. (If that is so then why is it that temple is attacked. Why no attack on Imam Bukhari. Why Parliament is attacked),” he said.

“I don’t say all minority communities are responsible for these activities. They are not. But what I am unable to understand is why every arrested terrorist belongs to a particular community,” he said.

Calling for total boycott of secularists, Mr Togadia said those who called themselves Indians would have to accept the concept of “Hindu rashtra”. “They will have to accept Vande Mataram”. Stating that “We will have Ram temple in Ayodhya at any cost”, Mr Togadia said those who were opposed to it and Hindutva were free to go elsewhere. PTI
