2 beheaded in Rajouri Jammu/Srinagar, December 24 The bomb went off around 3.45 p.m. inside the bar, injuring those present there. The injured were rushed to a hospital where their condition was stated to be stable. Additional police and para-military forces have been rushed to the area and a hunt launched for the militants. Meanwhile, two civilians were beheaded at Khas village in Rajouri district this morning by a group of militants. According to the police, a group of militants barged into the house of Pawan Kumar, a constable posted in the Rajouri Police Lines and dragged his father and brother out of their residence. Just a few feet away from their house, they were beheaded by the militants leaving the bodies in a pool of blood. Villagers rushed to the area and raised a hue and cry. It took the police more than three hours to reach the far flung village. Meanwhile, a Hizbul Mujahideen district commander was among six militants killed by the security forces in the Kashmir valley overnight. A constable was today detained for his alleged involvement in the last night’s grenade attack in Rajouri town. Meanwhile, close on the heels of the beheading of some women in the Rajouri region, a militant outfit has circulated posters directing Muslims to follow a set of guidelines like the Taliban had done in Afghanistan. Signed by an outfit called the Lashkar-e-Jabbar, circulars have appeared in a degree college in Rajouri town, directing women to wear burqas and men to wear caps and grow beards in keeping with Islamic traditions. |
