Mrs Sonia Gandhi, President of the
All-India Congress Committee today accused the BJP-led NDA government of
destroying the economy of the country, and criticised the disinvestment
policy questioning the very rationale of selling-off profit-making
public sector undertakings and even those in the strategic sector.

Pyongyang’s continuing missile proliferation, a dozen Scud missiles
were found hidden in a ship originating from North Korea and believed to
be heading for Yemen, identified by the USA as a nation that harbours
terrorists.

Eminent jurist and constitutional
expert Nani Ardeshir Palkhivala died at the Jaslok Hospital and Research
Centre here this evening following cardiac arrest. He was 82.
Haryana
bans Aravali mining
Chandigarh, December 11
The Haryana Government has been
forced to issue an order imposing a blanket ban on mining being carried
out in the Aravali ranges in the state following the Supreme Court
taking umbrage at the state government’s earlier order confining the
ban on only the notified forest areas in the hill range.
