The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Mr Justice G B Pattanaik, summoned the three Judges of the Punjab and Haryana Court allegedly involved in acts of omission and commission and apprised them of the findings of a three-judge probe panel headed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Justice A R Lakshmanan.

Eminent jurist and constitutional expert Nani Ardeshir Palkhivala died at the Jaslok Hospital and Research  Centre here this evening following cardiac arrest. He was 82.

Haryana bans Aravali mining

The Haryana Government has been forced to issue an order imposing a blanket ban on mining being carried out in the Aravali ranges in the state following the Supreme Court taking umbrage at the state government’s earlier order confining the ban on only the notified forest areas in the hill range.
