Ayodhya trial in Rae Bareily
SC upholds UP Govt order

New Delhi, November 29
Rejecting a petition seeking trial of the Ayodhya case accused including, the Deputy Prime Minister Mr L.K. Advani, at Lucknow, the Supreme Court said today that the trial would now take place at a Rae Bareily’s Special Court as was decided by the Uttar Pradesh Government in consultation with the Allahabad High Court.

Challan filed against Bhattal in UT court

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau today filed a challan against Mrs Rajinder Kaur Bhattal in the Court of UT District and Sessions Judge, H.S Bhalla. Mr Bhalla marked the case in the court of UT Additional and Sessions Judge, Mr Balbir Singh, who has issued notice to Mrs Bhattal for December 21.

Punjab moves Centre to ban Noormahlia sect

The Punjab Government has decided to move the Government of India to ban the alleged unlawful activities of followers of the Noormahlia sect who operate under the name and style of Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sanstha in the state.

Charges framed against Langah, others

The court of Special Judge here today framed charges against Sucha Singh Langah, former Punjab PWD Minister, under Sections 13 (a) (e), 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Sections 467 and 468 of the IPC in criminal and corruption case registered against him by the Vigilance Bureau on May 16 at SAS Nagar.

Inputs suggest Al-Qaida presence: BSF DG

The BSF Director-General, Mr Ajay Raj Sharma, today asserted that intelligence inputs suggested the presence of Al-Qaida operatives in Bangladesh and Pakistan’s ISI was using that land to route its terrorist activities in the North-Eastern states.

Historical Sikh shrines in Afghanistan damaged during shelling in the recent past are beyond repair and, hence, will have to be re-constructed, which involves huge money. However, refusal by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to send a delegation of the SGPC to carry out repair of gurdwaras to Afghanistan has annoyed Sikhs there.
