11 dead as bus falls into gorge

Shimla, November 22
Eleven persons were killed and 23 injured, five of them seriously, when a private minibus fell into a gorge from the Hindustan-Tibet road at Spillo in Kinnaur district last evening.

The bus was on its way from Rekong Peo to Nako. Those killed included the driver and four women. The seriously injured were shifted to Indira Gandhi Medical College here and the rest hospitalised at Rekong Peo.

The Additional District Magistrate and the Deputy Superintendent of Police rushed to the accident site. A preliminary inquiry said the mishap took place due to the driver’s negligence.
