Charges framed against Hindujas, Bofors

New Delhi, November 15
The three Hinduja brothers —Srichand, Gopichand and Prakashchand — and Swedish arms manufacturer A.B. Bofors today pleaded “not guilty” even as a Delhi court today framed charges of criminal conspiracy, corruption and cheating against them. The trial will commence on December 4.

The charges were framed on the basis of the 176-page order passed yesterday. The accused have been charged with criminal conspiracy (Section 120 B) and cheating (Section 420) under the IPC and Sections 5 (1) (d) and 5 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947, against the accused.

Additional charges were also framed against the Hinduja brothers.

The court also framed additional charges against Bofors company under Section 161 (read with Section 165-A) and Section 464 (making a false document) and Section 465 (forgery) of the IPC.
