10-day police remand for R.K. Sharma

New Delhi, September 28 Senior IPS officer of Haryana cadre Ravi Kant Sharma, prime suspect in journalist Shivani Bhatnagar murder case who surrendered in an Ambala court yesterday after eluding the police for nearly two months, was today remanded in 10-day police custody by a Delhi court.  In video (28k, 56k)	Mr R.K. In a desperate attempt to assuage the disappointment of his constituents, Shiromani Akali Dal chief and former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today urged Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to revise the MSP for paddy and announce a bonus of Rs 50 per quintal for the current season.

Financial crisis in Punjab: CM Bathinda, September 28 Even as the state government has called an all-party meeting on October 1 to work out the mode of agitation to be launched against the Centre for its discrimination against Punjab in the matter of minimum support price and procurement of paddy, the Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, today said as the state had been facing a financial crisis, it could default in meeting its financial liabilities, including payment in lieu of paddy to be procured by state agencies.
