Tribune News Service

New Delhi, September 9
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh underwent a successful coronary angioplasty at Batra Hospital today.

The angioplasty was necessitated after the ‘thalium test’ conducted this morning showed “some block in an artery.”

Dr H.S. Wasir, chief cardiologist and Adviser to Batra Hospital, said Capt Amarinder Singh was undergoing tests since he was admitted to the hospital on September 6.

The doctor said that report of thalium test was received in the afternoon after which it was decided to go for angioplasty.

“He will be discharged in a day or two,” Dr Wasir said.
