Playing their best hockey in the tournament so far, India pipped Pakistan 3-2 in a thrilling league match of the Champions Trophy Hockey Tournament here today. After a draw, loss and two successive wins in the six-team tournament, India now have seven points from four matches to climb to the joint second position with the Netherlands behind Germany.

440 more companies for J&K poll

In a bid to instil a sense of security among residents and to prevent militants from disrupting the poll, over 440 additional companies of paramilitary forces have been rushed to Jammu and Kashmir for the four-phased Assembly elections starting from September 16.

Having failed to get a favourable court verdict, actress Manisha Koirala today moved the National Commission for Women, seeking its intervention to stop the screening of “Ek Chhoti Si Love Story”. Accusing producer Shashilal Nair of “breach of contract”, the actress indicated that she could also move the Supreme Court on the issue.
