EC may look into package for migrants
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, August 31
The Election Commission (EC) may look into the financial package announced by the Centre for Kashmiri migrants to ascertain whether it was violation of the model code of conduct, which came into effect on August 2 with the announcement of Assembly poll in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The commission has been told by the Ministry of Home Affairs that the package is an old one. However, the commission may look into it on Monday,” a senior official said here today. National Conference President Omar Abdullah had demanded that the EC should go into the Centre’s announcement of the package.
