Badal’s ex-OSD gets interim bail

Ropar, August 31
Mr Maghar Khan, Sessions Judge, Ropar, today granted interim anticipatory bail to Mr Hardeep Singh, a former OSD to Mr Parkash Singh Badal, in a case registered against him by the Vigilance Bureau, SAS Nagar, on August 29 under Sections 13(1) (e) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The Sessions Judge also issued notice to the State Government for September 21 on his anticipatory bail application.

The Sessions Judge ordered that in the event of arrest of the applicant, he be released on bail on his furnishing personal bonds in the sum of Rs 1 lakh with one surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the arresting officer. The Sessions Judge also ordered that the applicant shall join the investigation as and when required by the Vigilance Bureau and shall not tamper with the prosecution evidence. He also directed the applicant not to leave India without prior permission of the court.

The Sessions Judge observed that at present there was no present who had levelled any allegation of corruption against the applicant. The only allegation against the applicant in the FIR was that he had acquired property beyond his known sources of income.
