Rs 101-crore aid for Punjab Chandigarh, August 7 Efforts were being made to manage power and water supply to the agriculture sector to meet the drought situation. A sum of Rs 5 crore had been released to the districts to ensure drinking water supply in the rural and urban areas affected by drought. The government was according top priority to the problems of border districts, where farmers’ tubewells were “powerless” because these were located in minefields. Such farmers also be compensated. |
