Mamata addresses newsmen in KolkataKeeping her options open, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today threatened to walk out of the NDA if the Eastern Railway bifurcation decision was not reviewed within 12 days by the Vajpayee government, saying that during the period a series of agitations, including a Bangla bandh on August 5, would be launched.

One of the most sensational trials to rock Bollywood concluded today with a sessions court sentencing Ketan and Vivek Anand, sons of the late director Chetan Anand, their maidservant Mala Chaudhary and accomplice Ashok Swami to life imprisonment for the murder of film actress Priya Rajvansh over two years ago.

Intelligence transfers hampered probe
High Court CJ writes to Punjab Governor
Chandigarh, July 31
In a significant development, the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Mr Justice Arun B.Saharya, has stated that the transfer of Mr A.P. Bhatnagar and other “key officers” of the Intelligence Wing by the Punjab Government on June 27 “hampered the probe” being conducted by him into the involvement of certain high court Judges in the PPSC scam.
