Protesters keep Advani away from carnage site
Jammu, July 14
Angry slogan-shouting protesters today prevented Mr L.K. Advani from visiting the site of yesterday’s carnage in Jammu. The Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishan Advani addresses a news conference in Jammu, on Sunday. who came here to give a report on the incident, said carnages being committed by militants repeatedly was a question for the entire nation and the government would shortly formulate its response to such “inhuman acts.”

Jammu, July 14
With the help of the civil authorities, 27 persons, including 13 women and one child, who were killed in the terrorist strike in the Rajiv Nagar-Qasim Nagar locality yesterday night, were cremated at Jogi Ghat today.

The government and the Opposition today strongly condemned the massacre of innocent people by terrorists at Qasim Nagar in Jammu and Kashmir with the Cabinet Committee on Security undertaking a review of the situation.

Separatists, too, decry massacre
Jammu, July 14
Jammu and Kashmir Governor Girish Chander Saxena and Union Minister of State for External Affairs Omar Abdullah today visited Qasim Nagar, scene of last night’s carnage, and expressed sympathy with the bereaved families. They also visited the Government Medical College Hospital and enquired after the condition of the injured, official sources said.
