Punjab Govt plans damage control
Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, June 28
The Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, today held a meeting with senior officers of his government at Patiala. Informed sources said the Chief Secretary, Mr Y.S. Ratra, and the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr S.K. Sinha, were also present.

The sources said the government was feeling concerned as it had got a lot of “negative publicity” today on the issue of the shifting of the top brass of the Intelligence wing last evening. At the meeting, the government, it appears, prepared its strategy for damage control.

Efforts would be made by the government to explain its position on the issue. Capt Amarinder Singh has called a press conference here tomorrow.
