Cases against BKU men dropped Chandigarh, June 8 “The question of withdrawal of cases would have come if challans were filed against the BKU leaders in the court. But since this was not done, they could be discharged by the police through the court”, the source said. The source said that the process of discharging the BKU leaders would be set off at the earliest. “Tomorrow or day after, the process will be initiated and it should not take much time”, the source said. The sources also added that the only hitch in discharging the BKU leaders was the cases filed against them by some central agencies for destruction of properties belonging to the Union Government. “ We will first discharge them from the cases filed by the state police and later try to help them avoid getting caught under the cases filed by the Central agencies”, stated the source. Earlier, talking to TNS, Mr Ghasiram Nain, president, Bharatiya Kisan Union in Haryana, said that the Haryana Government had invited him to hold talks. “We have been asked to hold talks with the government at Chandigarh in a coordial atmosphere”, Mr Nain said. He, however, reiterated that talks would take place only when the government withdrew the cases filed against BKU leaders. He also added that instead of a BKU delegation going to Chandigarh to hold talks with the government, the state government would have to send its team to Kandela for negotiations. |
